Wiele osób, wchodząc pierwszy raz na pokład tylnim wejściem, często pyta ,,co oznacza kod widoczny na ogonie samolotu?” Jest to nic innego jak rejestracja samolotu lub inaczej alfanumeryczne oznaczenie przynależności państwowej statków powietrznych. W zależności od każdego kraju, wygląda ona trochę inaczej.
Dla przykładu, rejestracja każdego samolotu zarejestrowanego w Polsce zaczynać się będzie od liter SP – Sierra Papa. Jest to kod przynależący do RP i każda osoba, bądź firma rejestrująca swój samolot w Polsce, będzie posiadać ten oto kod.
Każdy samolot Polskiej Linii Lotniczej LOT posiada ten oto prefiks. Dla przykładu zdjęcie przedstawiające samolot Polskich Linii Lotniczych LOT:
Na samolotach popularnej Irlandzkiej Linii Lotniczej Ryanair, najczęściej zobaczymy nic innego jak flagę Irlandii oraz prefiks EI/EJ, co przyporządkowuje samoloty firmy Ryanair do kraju, w którym firma została założona i w którym posiada swoją siedzibę.
